How Have You Been?!

Posted by

I’ve not posted anything in four days, which is unusual for me. I don’t actually have a strict writing schedule at the moment, just a bunch of ideas in the Notes app fermenting and gradually taking shape.

My last post was God’s Grand Game (on Monday) and that opened up some really interesting discussions, despite the fact that there was an annoying problem with the tags. I have been in touch with WordPress support (aren’t they great?!) because the post wasn’t showing up under its tags and categories in the Reader. They have assured me they are working to fix the problem, but in the meantime it’s just one of those ‘meh’ things that I believe God sends to keep us humble.

I’m delighted to have finished recording Song 5 of the T.E.N. project, and God-willing that will go live on 10th February. I’m excited about that, especially because I have been working on a (very simple) lyric video to accompany the track.

I’ve also been doing a lot of reading. I’m trying to get my head around email marketing, which is a huge area to learn about. I don’t particularly like the word ‘marketing’ because it’s very businessy and I’m in the WordPress game to build relationships and discuss ideas, not make money. Nevertheless, I do want to find more effective ways of introducing people to my books and essays, and running an effective email list is one way of doing that.

But what’s been taking up the bulk of my time is a new writing project I’m working on. It’s something a little different in that it’s more psychology than theology. I don’t want to give too much away at this stage other than to say it’s coming together really well and I’m excited about it.

Oh, and my toilet broke. The plumber pretty much trashed my bathroom and created more problems than he fixed, but it’s a lesson in patience and these things happen!

Love to all of you and I hope you’ve been well. On Sundays I spend some quality time in prayer and always pray for God’s blessing over all my WordPress subscribers.

That’s it for now. Have a wonderful weekend and keep in touch!

  1. Your toilet brings back my basement debacle when the sewer backed up and had to be snaked in which the company that did it volunteered to help me clean up parts, actually made it worse, but God bless them, at least they tried, lol! God bless!

    1. Oh wow, that sounds a lot more serious than my problem! The guy who “fixed” my toilet was so clumsy, it sounded like he was fighting an rhino or something. And he somehow managed to water all over the walls! But yeah, it’s operational at the moment so I’m thankful πŸ™‚ God bless you too!

  2. Sometimes people who are meant to fix things make things worse. I’ve had that happen a number of times when I lived in my first apartment with my husband. But I do miss that place. Haha πŸ™‚

Way to go on all of your writing accomplishments!!! I hear you about the writing ideas, I have so many titles in drafts, just in case I need ideas. It’s like I get one idea write it down, but then another idea takes its place. That’s why certain posts I think I will write in the future, do not into existence haha till much later.

    1. Just saw your email about your comments going into people’s spam folders and you’re right, this comment was filtered as spam! Why’s that happening? So glad you pointed it out as I would probably never have seen it!

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement!

      1. πŸ™‚ yes, I don’t know. I try to be a fairly consistent commenter for posts. So, maybe because I comment a lot it is looked upon as spam? I’m not sure. Thank you so much for checking. Keep walking forward with the direction God has you on, and may you be continually blessed. πŸ™‚

  3. I have not been as good at posting my blogs as I thought I would be. I have several drafts floating in my head but then this busy life distracts me. It’s hard for me to write much with pen n paper-or even on my phone. So if my laptop is not with me, I feel lost. My internet was down for a day and I discovered I can actually live without it for a time. Lol. Currently I’m waiting for my daughter’s class to get over, so I have a moment. Excited about your book idea. I’ve been working on something on the side, as well. It’s amazing that there is so much creativity still unraveled. You would have thought it would have all been said. But God is forever creating. God bless.

    1. So great to hear from you, Beehopper! It’s been a while. I would certainly be lost without my devices, although I do try to have some ‘digital detox’ time once in a while!

Hope those ideas you’ve got in the drafts come to fruition in God’s timing πŸ™‚

I totally agree – God is infinitely creative and that is a truly wonderful thing. Blows my mind!
