A MacBook and other objects on a wooden desk

Sunday Summary | QOTW

Posted by

I hope everyone’s having a blessed Sunday? This post is my weekly round-up of what’s been happening on the blog over the last week, plus a few personal reflections on my life at this time, and a Question of the Week to help me find out more about you. Let’s begin!

The Week in Review

To kick off the week I shared my Monday Music post, which this week was a classic song by soul legend Sam Cooke. It’s all about love! To read the post and listen to the song, click here.

On Wednesday I shared May’s Blog Spotlight post. Every month I write a post shining the spotlight on a few blogs that have been submitted to my Promote Your Blog page. To see this month’s featured blogs, click here.

I was back on Thursday with my weekly Thursday Theology post. This was a slightly longer post than usual looking at the idea of Christian salvation in relation to the free will problem. To read the post, entitled ‘Free Will and Salvation’, click here.

On Friday I shared my weekly Friday Philosophy post, which this week looked at Philo of Alexandria and his controversial take on the Jewish Scriptures, which was influenced by ancient Greek philosophy. To read about Philo, click here.

Unusually for me, I posted on Saturday as well, as I wanted to get your feedback on some changes I have been considering for the blog. Thanks so much for all the fantastic thoughts and advice you shared, there was plenty of food for thought! More on that below…

A Few Personal Reflections

  • Having taken on board your responses to my feedback request concerning how often I should post, I’m going to attempt to stick with my current schedule moving forward. Some people suggested they would like daily posts, others suggested posting once in while would be fine, so it seems that my current scheduleΒ offers a good balance / compromise. Also, I really enjoy my current schedule. While things are busy in my life, I’ll just have to be super-organised!
  • My new fitness regime has been going on for about two weeks, and it’s going really well. I’ve lost weight, gained a bit of muscle πŸ’ͺ, and am sleeping well and eating more healthily than ever. I’m seeing a physio on Tuesday as I want to sort out my posture – too many years spent slouched over a laptop have taken their toll, and I want to reverse the damage before it’s too late! I’ll update you in the coming weeks.
  • I’m already really excited about Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June. I have some money put aside to upgrade my MacBook, which I have had since 2013. It has served me really well, but I feel it’s time to sell it and upgrade. I’m looking forward to seeing what Apple release in June, and how the price of older models comes down. Which gives me an idea for QOTW…

Question of the Week

What computer do you use for blogging?

  1. The “I’ve lost weight and gained a bit of muscle” part made me smile.

Concerning QOTW, I use a mini Samsung computer for blogging. Though my mobile phone does alot of the work.

    Stay blessed.

    1. Haha glad it made you smile 😊πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻😁

I use my phone quite a lot too, I think the app is pretty good! I’m much faster typing on my MacBook though…

      1. I think most people probably do use computers, but since most of my photos are on my phone, I’ve always just used it.

I have an old MacBook Air, and I have the WordPress.com Mac app on there – I just rarely use it.

        Take care!

        1. For the type of blogging I do, I’d find it difficult to manage on a phone. Particularly for my theology / philosophy posts I do a lot of moving sections around, cutting, pasting, editing, etc, which is much easier on my MacBook. Blessings! 😁

  2. HP Pavillion laptop I’ve had for about 8 years; just about had it totally overhauled a year ago while visiting my daughter in Los Angeles, so I guess I’ll have it for a few more years! I have to find a solution to my internal DVD/CD player not working anymore and needing more USB plugins if I get an external one, which looks like my best solution. Happy I have a son who’s an IT tech and he’s back in our area now his army days are over! Praise God!!!
