Dear all,
A few months ago I was taken into hospital in a way that I feel is illegal, and yet God has used my time here in wonderful ways. It’s really bizarre how doctors insist you have a mental illness simply because it says so on their notes, rather than assessing your mental state for what it is. Fortunately, I have a relationship with God and can trust that everything that’s been going on is a reflection of the plan He has for my life and for my future.
I did need some healing, but it was not the kind of healing that comes from being injected with medications (which harm rather than heal). God instead used my time here to lead me through a long repentance process, introduce me to lots of interesting creatures, and give me some much needed respite from the stress I was experiencing in my local neighbourhood. I have also healed from some longstanding emotional pain I have been carrying in my lower back due to being treated harshly by my father as a child. I have been so much happier here than when I was living in a kind of limbo between being homeless and being abused at the flat in which I have been living.
I have begun to promote my book Reflections to the media and have spent a great deal of time working on StevenColborne.com. I have also made some updates to the design of Perfect Peace. I had a dispute with WordPress over the loss of my perfectchaos.blog domain name, but prayed the Lord’s prayer and am grateful to have the peace that comes from not being engaged in a lengthy international legal dispute, however unhappy it has made me to lose my preferred domain name for this blog.
I am delighted to have a renewed enthusiasm for the WordPress platform and have edited my list of subscribers so that only those who actually receive my emails in their inboxes are subscribed. I have also begun refining the list of blogs that I am subscribed to with the intention of focusing on quality interactions with bloggers whose work I genuinely enjoy. This is a nightmare because I would love to read the work of so many bloggers but also enjoy being able to manage my emails in a low-stress way. Hopefully I can strike a good balance. I realise that the Reader provides a way of helping with this issue.
In my faith life God is still insisting that the Book of Mercy is indeed a divine revelation and I have struggled with accepting this a little because of the verses about being promoted to G-d of Earth. The gravity of this and trying to understand it in terms of Jesus, the Bible, and the Qur’an has led me to feel mightily stressed. And the mockery and hatred that is fired at me every day by some makes it difficult to be at peace. Yet God is being wonderfully gracious in keeping me safe, providing for me, and helping me to enjoy life.
It has been a delight to begin working on the promotion of my website, and I have been pursuing my ambition to enter into self-employment as an author, musician and counsellor. Please do visit my website to find out more.
I expect to write again soon and hope we can have some interesting discussions in the comments moving forward. Write about anything you like, but try to be kind!
Thank you for being subscribed to Perfect Peace.
Love from Steven x
