How Do I Know God Exists? (video)

Posted by

Hi friends! In today’s post I’m delighted to bring you the first video in the Deep Thoughts About God video series. There will be a new video in this series every Thursday, and each video relates closely to a chapter in my book God’s Grand Game.

In this first video I provide what I believe to be good evidence for the existence of God, and I also discuss the relationship between the human brain, the human body, and God. I aim to highlight the absurdity of the popular idea that the brain is a kind of machine that powers the rest of the body.

[CORRECTION: In the video at 1:17 I use the phrase ‘past leads to the future’, but I meant to say ‘past determines the future’ — sorry!]

I hope you enjoyed the video. Next Thursday I’ll be returning with the second instalment in the series, which will be a video entitled The Cosmic Animator, in which I will explore the idea that God is animating all activity in existence.

(Quick side note — I’m quite active on Instagram at the moment so if you have an account and would like to connect, my handle is @stevencolborne. I share a lot of photos of some of the beautiful scenery in my part of London, as well as inspirational quotes from my own work and the work of renowned philosophers and theologians).

Til next time! 😉

  1. Love your work, because instead of prompting me to agree or disagree, it prompts me to think, and that’s a good thing. Looking forward to your next installment!

    1. Awesome! That is very much my intention. Thank you so much for watching, I hope you’ll find this series to be stimulating! Peace and blessings 🙂

  2. Very interesting opinion. I totally believe in God but I am not always as close to Him as I should be. Sometimes I almost lose faith entirely or I go thru very dry spells of no prayer & no desire to pray when I become angry about things. I have experienced much tragedy in my life & sometimes I will pray more than ever, other times I feel angry at God. Then I talk to Him & say since U R a loving God, I don’t know why this happened, it seems cruel but I don’t know why. Sometimes I get disgusted with the teachings from some religious leaders talking about God’s blessings since most of my life it has been nothing but a series of struggle & loss I used to think “why Doesn’t God love me? ” I don’t think people should be taught good things happen to you as blessings because seriously, I don’t believe it. I know good & bad things happen but I know that best people usually have the worst lives & partly because they are not crafty or manipulative to make some things go their way or are generous to a fault with others & are taken advantage of and so on. I believe it’s how Jesus taught us not to gather any treasures on earth, as much as we would like to, His kingdom is not of this earth so we will get our blessings later. If things work out for us once in a while, it’s a bonus. Take care & God bless! 🙂
